Non-woven polypropylene is the high-volume, low-unit-cost end of the range. It is what retail counters and pharmacy chains hand over, and the only line here where GSM is the whole specification.

GSM is where this line gets quietly cut, and it is the reason to weigh a swatch rather than trust a quote. Order 90 GSM, accept 70, and the bag tears on its second use — the difference is invisible across a counter and obvious the first time someone puts a two-litre bottle in it. We quote against the GSM you name and you are welcome to check the delivered stock against it.

W-cut carries more and stands up; D-cut is cheaper and packs flatter. If the bag is going into a shipper by the thousand, that flat pack is worth real money in freight.

Be honest about it

This is the wrong line for you if

  • The bag is meant to read as premium or as a gift. Non-woven does not, at any GSM, and printing it heavier will not change that.
  • Your buyer or region has banned single-use plastic carriers — polypropylene is a plastic, whatever the reusability claim on the artwork says.
  • You need fine or full-colour artwork. This surface takes one or two flat colours and nothing subtler.

Common questions about non-woven carry bag manufacturing

What GSM should I order?
Match it to load, not to price. Around 60 to 70 GSM for a light retail carrier, 80 to 100 for anything holding weight or being reused. Below 60 the bag is effectively single use. Whatever you pick, put the number on the purchase order — this is the one specification in the range that gets substituted most often.
Is non-woven polypropylene recyclable?
Technically yes, practically it depends entirely on whether your city collects PP and whether the bag has been printed heavily. If a genuine environmental claim is the point of the order, jute or unlaminated cotton is the more defensible choice, and we would rather say so now than after you have printed the claim on it.
What is the difference between D-cut and W-cut?
D-cut has the handle die-cut straight out of the body — cheaper, flatter, lighter loads. W-cut has side gussets and a box bottom so it stands up and carries more. If the bag holds a shoebox or a takeaway container, you want W-cut.
What is the minimum order?
100 pcs per design, though this line is usually ordered in far larger runs — the unit economics only start to make sense in volume.
